Located in the Sahaydri forest range, Andharban forest is one of the densest forests. The name translates to Dark forest, and rightly so, as some of the patches of the forest are so dark that the sunlight doesn’t even reach the forest floor.
It boasts a rich flora and fauna, some of which are unique to this region. The Andharban Trek is thirteen kilometers long and has an easy gradient. The best time for this trek is during the monsoon season, when the forest is lush and the waterfalls are at their fullest.
Trek through the dense forests of the Sahyadri, filled with species of birds such as the Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Malabar Whistling Thrush, and Chaatak.
The trek has an easy to moderate difficulty level and requires a basic level of physical fitness. So push past your limits, and experience the beauty of nature as you reach new highs.
